Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable backend systems using Python (Django, Flask is a plus).
- Build and maintain APIs, primarily using Django Rest Framework (DRF) or FastAPI.
- Assists in verification of data loading and manage the Quality of the data sets.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Manage and optimize databases (Postgres, MongoDB) to ensure high performance and availability.
- Deploy and manage applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth deployment processes.
- Write clean, testable code and participate in debugging and optimization.
- Work with version control systems like Git to maintain source code integrity.
- Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers.
- Ensure high code quality by using testing frameworks and best practices.
Desired Skills:
- Minimum of 3-5 years as a Developer.
- Bachelor’s degree within a technical related field (i.e., Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or Information Management).
- Proven experience as a Python Backend Developer with a strong focus on Django (Flask knowledge is a bonus).
- Hands-on experience with API development (DRF, FastAPI).
- Proficiency in database design and management (Postgres, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with AWS services and cloud deployment strategies.
- Experience in creation of technical specifications and project documentation and translating functional requirements into detailed technical requirements.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for backend/frontend collaboration.
- Experience in teaching or mentoring other developers is highly desirable.
- Strong programming skills in Python, with expertise in writing, testing, and debugging code.
- Familiarity with distributed storage systems like DB2, Sybase, or MongoDB.
- Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and a collaborative work environment.
- Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
- Proficiency with Git for version control.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
- Hands-on experience with testing frameworks such as PyTest or UnitTest.
